Does anyone have trouble finding jewelry that falls somewhere between fine and costume?
Looking for something that falls between fine and costume jewelry? Something that looks expensive, classy, and unique...but is not trendy?

- Look for that type of jewelry at Claire's Icings Target Macy's $$$$ Garage sales Thrift stores Halloween costume stores
- that's easy try semi precious stone jewelry it fall inbetween what your looking for hasn't been trendy as of yet is cheap classy looks expensive and always unique i would know i make it myself and sell it dirt cheap ;)
- My suggestion is to actually GO TO thrift stores and flea markets. People get rid of/donate stuff that can be very valuable (if not for the quality of the gem, the design and age of the piece). Don't go to the mall, please. Everything there that seems cheap IS cheap. Instead, I recommend going out and exploring places where you can truly find some GREAT finds. Ask questions, educate yourself, and sport some jewelry know one else has ((For fractions on the dollar)). Also, when you are complimented on your new necklaces, rings, bracelets earrings, etc....dont feel obliged to reveal the price or the source (your mall friends will be astonished and bewildered). Also, grab some rubbing alcohol to clean the pieces before wearing them. Go Girl, & Peace !!!!!
- I have had some really good luck at T. J. Maxx. Their jewelry is always changing depending on what places they buy out--so it is always interesting to see what they have--and their prices are reasonable and competitive. Your other option is to go to art shows and art festivals. You will find some really unique items like hand beaded pieces--bracelets, earrings and necklaces, sterling silver jewelry that is hand crafted. Once you make contact with one of these crafters, you can get more one-of-a-kind pieces from them to go with what you have already gotten. You can get a real individual look going on in this way--and build your own personal style. If you do it over a period of time, it won't be such a hit in your pocketbook. Good luck
- Hello! I am that jewelry designer that the last person wrote about! What you seek is called "Bridge Jewelry", because it bridges the gap between fine and costume jewelry. What you are looking for- something made with sterling silver - not plated, pewter, or 14k gold, and semi-precious gemstones instead of either glass or rubys and diamonds--- well that is exactly what I specialize in! This way you get the assurence you would get from a big name jeweler and also get local made handcrafted work of art. I have been in the business for almost 20 years. For some suggestions- I love the amethyst set, it is easily wearable, a timeless style, and beautiful. People who get it as a gift think it costs hundreds. Yes, I have made and sold $800.00 necklaces in fine gallerys, but most of my earrings are under $20.00! I have been a best selling line in over 25 stores, art gallerys and boutique shops and national catleoges. But my favorite customer is the special requests! I can custom make anything you want- and you set the budget and style and stone prefrence. Have a great day- and OH! You can buy with confidence beacause everything has a lifetime guarrentee and I have certainly been around for a long time!
