I'm really interested in opening a FASHION JEWELRY store. I want to sell fashion jewelry like the earrings, necklaces, bracelets like Forever 21, but better quality and styles. Ask yourself these questions first: - Where are you planning on opening your business? - What is the style or trend of where you are at? - What pricepoint do you wish to offer to your clientel? In addition, realize the mark-up you have to make to keep up with overhead. Usual jewelry mark up is from 4 to 5 times cost, so discounts can be added. As for wholesale fashion jewelry vendors, there are many, but negotiating terms with them is highly important. Most want (30) day terms with a deposit up front. Try to work minimum (90) dy terms or if possible, a Memo Program. With the economy how it is, many vendors will work memo on some of their closeouts.
