How to speed up fading process in fashion jewelry?

I bought a pair of gold heart fashion earrings awhile ago-But since it's fashion jewelry(not real gold or silver), the gold finish has worn off most of one of the earrings so now it'silver. But the other earring is still gold-how can I make the gold finish wear off the other earring so both earrings match? What does shower with them on xd mean? Oh, XD means LOL.

3. Water and Heat. Dont scrub them but maybe try and soak it in water and use heat and water as a combination. Try rubbing the earring when its wet with your finger's and try a damp cloth. I brought a fake gold ring and it was fashion jewelry and I wore it on a 46 degree day and after I washed my hands a few times it was nearly all bronze. Goodluck and be careful what earrings you wear. Some cheap stuff makes my ear lobes turn black and causes infections.
