Help with vintage earrings! I have over 300 great prs. of vintage earrings but they're all clip-ons or screw-backs. I'd like to convert them all to pierced. All of the earring converters I can find only convert them from pierced to clip-ons. I'd be greatful for any information. Thanks in advance! I'd like to do this myself instead of taking them to a jeweler as I have so many pairs.
Vintage Earrings Help!? I am trying to figure out what the style/design of these bell earrings is. They are made of metal and hang in a descending graduated form. I've been told they could be Chinese bells, or Tibetan or from India, but in searching through Google I can not find anything remotely close to this design. Anyone who can help I would greatly appreciate! http://www.deadzoom.com/member/picofcrop/bellear1.jpg http://www.deadzoom.com/member/picofcrop/bellear2.jpg
Pearl Earrings with 4k and S shape on french back What is this? I just bought a set of vintage pearl earrings. They have a 4k on the french backing and and S engraved on the back. (I think the S shape is a mark) Does anyone know what this means? How much should I have paid for pink colored double earrings? I think they are old pearls.
How would I do Vintage Style Makeup for Prom? My dress is an ivory/white long dress. Empire waist. It has a black flower in between the boobs and blacks straps that tie behind neck like a halter. Vintage jewellery site that was advertised on Facebook? There was a brilliant vintage jewellery site that came up loads in the ads on Facebook and I saved it as a favourite, but then my laptop got wiped and I can't find it again! Does anyone know what it was called? It had all sorts of jewellery, the items I can remember were a bird cage necklace, Oui/Non earrings, a locket with a white butterfly on it....
What kind of earrings would go with this wedding dress? This is the dress I got for my wedding...it's on the vintage- side, which I love....any suggestions on earrings? When Were These Type Of Earrings Popular? Today I bought a box of vintage jewelry and in it there were a few pairs of earrings for unpierced ears but instead of clip ons, they screwed tighter and tighter to your earlobe untill they were on there well enough to stay. Do you know what decade these were popular in? Pete, stop being so ignorant. I have no desire to wear "some big black hoops! dayummm." I asked a question and I wanted an answer, not ridiculous comments.
How do I make copper turn dark faster? Im trying to make these cheap dollar store hoop earrings look old or "vintage". I already peeled of all the bright turquoise paint so its just shiny orange copper. How can I make it oxidize and turn a dark brown-ish color?
Ideas for hanging earrings? I have a lot of jewelry and I'm trying to think of a good easy way to hang my earrings. I'm really into vintage decor so I don't like using plastic storage containers and things that are too modern looking. Anyone have any ideas of what I could use or make, to use to hang earrings on?

Help making creative things for a teen's vintage style room? Hi! I'm just remodeling my room, and I'm sort of the artsy type, so I wanted to make some stuff instead of buying things. I'm already painting an egg carton to hold my earrings. =] I'm going for the vintage look with my room, so any unique vintage looking things I can do would be great. Here's my room's layout: It's a giant rectangle, (two long walls and two short). One whole wall is a window that opens to the balcony, and the other merges into a hallway at the left which leads to my bathroom and closet. I have my bed which is black and one of those low beds on one of the long walls, opposite the door. My dresser and bookshelf are on the hallway-short wall. =] Sorry if this is confusing. All my furniture is black, and three of my walls are white and one is bright bright turquoise. My comforter is Victorian style, it has those wrought iron-ish patterns all over it with little blue birds on it too. Thanks for putting up with that description! Can you guys help me with creative, cute little ideas to accessorize my room that I can MAKE? Thanks! -bambi- Also, omygod, what I absolutely love is the Urban Outfitter's bedding style. You know, that indie vintage sort of thing. I think it's awesome, but my mom says it's too expensive, so if you could somehow incorporate that in?
Vintage/Indie looking jewellery? & I'm looking for nice vintage-ish or indie jewellery (: I already found these http://www.urbanoutfitters.co.uk/Pack-of-3-Stud-Earrings/invt/5761419907486&bklist=icat,5,shop,womens,womensaccessories,wearrings and some owl stud earrings in topshop, but I'm looking for other stuff too :D Or if you have any nice jewellery in general... Thanks (:

What your signature style item? Are you addicted to big earrings? Vintage necklaces? Knit berets? What signature accessory or clothing/style item just says 'you'? ;)
What necklace to go with my prom dress? My prom dress is a pale blue 50's vintage ball gown with a satin bodice, tulle skirt, and sweetheart neckline. I'm wearing it with white satin gloves, white heels(which you can't see) and a small sparkly headband that matches the dress. It needs some jewelry though. My ears aren't pierced so earrings are out, but I have a small simple blue oval shaped stone pendant. would that go? What else would?
why was my question removed? I asked how to hang and display vintage earrings that have screw backs instead of studs or hoops. what the heck?
Should I sell on ebay? I bought 4 pairs of nice vintage earrings at an antique shop, all are from the 6's and in pretty good condition but need a little cleaning. They are all flower clip ons, one pair are white clay/poceline type roses with pink in the middle, the next pair are pink metal flowers with a pink gem in the middle, and the others are purple flower/roses and you screw the backings to adjsut to your ear lobe and the last pair I'm keeping for myself. Should I sell them for 7-10$ on ebay I bought them all for very good prices and if I sold them at 10 I'd be making only a few dollars profit. The shipping would be the price of 37$ cents (I'd mail them in envelopes) I bought 1 pair for 2 dollars, 2 pairs for 5dollars, and 1 pair for 10 (really heavey duty and gold plated)
allergic to custome jewlry? The clip-on earrings make a wet solution come out of my pierced ears.. I was told that was puss? anyways i still want to wear them.. is there anything i can put on my ears...or the earring itself, to make the puss stop coming out... I love my vintage earrings please dont make me part from them.
Help me organize my stuff!? My room is extremely messy! I think it's just because I have so much stuff and nowhere to put it...So it ends up on the floor and crowding my desk and other surfaces. First of all...I have a lot of jewellery. My mom gave me all of her vintage earrings and they're just sitting in a plastic back that's been in my endtable for years. I never wear any of them, because I don't see or think of them when I'm getting ready in the morning. I have a very tiny net earring holder, but it hardly holds any of my earrings and it doesn't hold hook back earrings very well...only studs. I think I'll probably end up making a few of these to hang my earrings: http://media.photobucket.com/image/earring%20holder/pmthreads/Jewelry/CD%20Earring%20Holder/cdearringholderfront.jpg Very cute and handy. But, I'm not sure what to do with my necklaces. Basically at the moment, they're hanging on a bunch of coloured tacks in a cluster on my wall. It works well, but isn't very appealing to look at. :P Any suggestions on something I could make (I don't want to buy anything!) to house my necklaces and bracelets? I have a small gift box that I'll probably end up keeping my rings in. What about clothing? I have plenty of clothing, but it's the same situation as my mom's earrings. They're hidden away and I never see them in the morning! I always end up wearing the same things and wonder where all of my clothes went! I constantly give articles of clothing to the good will, but it always feels like I have too much. I have a closet: http://thegoddessblogs.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/messy-closet-small-199x300.jpg Like that one...but it's divided into 3 sections. The far left is just a bar hung across the top to allow dresses to hang. The middle is a bunch of cubbies like this (but made of wood...not canvas): http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/4105YBP8TJL._SL500_AA280_.jpg The far right is like the left but has 2 bars (one at the top and one in the middle) to allow two sets or shorter things to hang...jeans and t-shirts or whatever. I also have a dresser divided into 6...something like this: http://www.furniturehomedesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/bamboo-dresser.jpg I have basically nothing in my dresser though. It's so small, and I end up stuffing things into it so they'll fit...which just creates wrinkles. And again, I don't see the clothes stuffed under all of the others. How can I organize my clothes so I can see them all clearly? What should I keep in my dresser and what should I keep in my closet? Thanks :)

My hair is very thick, about midback length and blonde. Im wearing diamond stud earrings if that makes a difference! any help or pictures is grealty appreciated!!!!
Any idea what designer signed this vintage jewelry? There are three pairs of earrings that I am trying to identify the designers. Since they are from an estate sale, I can not know the year. They are all clip. 1) A button earring, gold chainlike design around a pearl center. This has 6 characters The first letter is either an "E" or "F" The second letter is a "P" The third letter looks like an E or F, but could be nearly anything. The fourth letter is definitely an "A" The fifth letter is most definitely an "R" The last letter is either an "I" or "L". 2) A silvertone swirly knot like design. This one I can't tell how many letters it is. It starts with a "T" ... it looks like it might start something like "tange..." or "tance..." 3) This one is a bold button earring, gold tone with emerald green and black or navy design, all of this around a pearl center. has a "B" next to a copyright sign on the back of the earring, and then the signature on the clip part starts with a B but is in illegible cursive with a slant to the right. Thanks for your help!!
Do I need a license of sorts to sell goods on consignment? a) Do I need a license of sorts to sell goods on consignment? I'm making earrings from home that I plan to sell at homemade-goods/vintage stores. b) Can I use stamps I have on my packaging or is that interfering with the stamp makers copy right? I'm selling the earrings not the stamp pattern after all. c) I have buttons that have name brands on them. Can I turn them into earrings and sell them or does that violate something? You could compare it to just reselling the clothes they came from which is legal...

what is a cute hair style for a 3 year old girl? picture please. She has thin blonde hair, she has her ears peirced and wears dangly's or big earrings so I usually put her hair up to show them off. I want a weirsd exotic haircut. Her hair is shoulder leangth an has layers starting at her chin ending at her shoulders (its the cutest thing). We are white (if that helps) I want her to look like an older more mature girl. not little piggy tales. her eyes are brown if that helps. her average outfit is vintage shaded jeans with a brown, black, white tan (neutril colors) shirt and her black crocs. She wairs them all the time.
Beaders, what internet sites do you buy your supplies from? Also I'm looking for those chunky plastic beads that they're making those necklace, earring, bracelet sets from and I'm coming up empty. They're called "Graduated Chunky" or "Vintage Lucite". I'm looking for suppliers with a variety of sizes and colors. HELP! I started out buying at Michaels, Rag Shop, AC Moore etc but even the sales rep there said I've moved beyond what they stock. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Whats your style? I basically wear jeans and tshirts, lol. I like flats and converse and only wear heels sometimes. I like makeup, lol, and I love black nail polish and my eye glasses and black berret. Something that has really fun, different, unique handbags, earrings, wallets, belts, hair stuff, etc. And that isn't very expensive but reasonable. Or maybe a little vintage. My brother is getting married in 2 weeks, do you think this will look good? I have blondish, brownish hair, and grrenish, hazelish eyes. I am 79 pounds, and 4"11. I will be 13 tomorrow. does this sound like a cute new year's eve outfit? i'm having a small get together tonight and i was thinking about wearing: dark wash jeans, cream colored tank top with small blue outlined flowers, white vintage look cardigan, flats, pearl earrings (fake of course) - i don't know why but i wanted that vintage feel any other ideas? any changes?
I'm gothic but....??? I am gothic, in the sense of mind and my writing, but I never dress like those teeny bopper goths, i used to wear a little bit of dark eyeliner, but most people can tell i'm a darker person. Do you consider it weird that someone could be gothic (if you don't know the real meaning of the word gothic please look it up in a dictionary, thanks)/ romantic, without dressing like the rest of them?? I personally like the bohemian style, with those dangly earrings and vintage looking stuff, and I do own a pair or two of goth-looking pants, but I rarely wear them lol. Okay to dismiss that rude comment down there, I'm not in high school, I'm a college student, and I happen to be an english junkie lol. I see where you're coming from though, I should have reworded my question a little better. My main question was, is it weird to have the state of mind where you are romantic/gothic, when you do not dress like everybody else? And Blue, I was not coming online to confess my "gothic-ness" or proclaim that I am "gothier-than-thou" to anyone, or to assign myself to a clique.
First day of school outfit ideas? I'm 13 and a freshman. I'm blonde with green eyes. I've got an outfit in mind... shirt: http://www.ae.com/web/browse/product.jsp?catId=cat90030&productId=0374_8417 [in green] with a plain old white tank top from PacSun... with jeans: http://store.delias.com/item.do?itemID=47810&categoryID=421&page=1&color=VKT [in vintage khaki] I'm going to wear my hair down and straightened. I'm going to wear silver bangles, and no earrings or necklaces. I wear brown mascara and eyeliner and clear lip gloss. Any ideas/tips? Ooh, I think I should wear shoes too. That's a really good plan. I have red flip flops and I have black converse.. which should I wear?! And thanks, people, for the compliments :]
Does anyone know who makes this? ok so I bought a pair of antique earrings at a vintage shop..but i don't know who makes them... The logo is a horizontal diamond ( as in the shape not the stone) with a capital V in it... Does anyone know who the maker is???
I finally found a loose fitting babydoll dress that i like, and now i'm confused about accessories? The dress is beige, brown, and green. It has a funky pattern and looks very vintage, and about knee lenth. I thought a pair of beige wedges would look great, but it totally washed the dress and my legs out. As far as jewelry goes, I love big earrings and bracelets. I can't really wear a necklace because the dress has funky straps. I feel really lost and confused about this fashion, please help!!
how should i dress after college? i'm 21 and graduating next may and going to grad school. i feel that i should dress a little more "grown-up." my style is a little artsy and hip. i usually wear skinny jeans, a nice tshirt or top, and moccasins or slip-on keds. when it's warmer i wear skirts and tshirts/tops, but mostly sundresses with sandals. i mostly shop at forever21, delias, and old navy. how can i dress like a "big girl" without dressing like my mother? i'd like to dress nice with my own touches. i like scarves and big vintage necklaces or earrings and things like that. any help? i'm going to be a guidance counselor after i get out of school so help me dress for that! polyvore outfits are welcomed and encouraged!
Make me an outfit? Make me an outfit and the three I like the most, I will make an outfit for them and earn 10 points! I like all colors except for pastels, reds, and yellows. I like abercrombie, wet seal, forever 21, hco, ae, aerie, aero, pink, and delias. My style is prep, the highest my heels can be are 2 inches, and I can't wear earrings. I like vintage and animal prints except for tiger print. Thnxx!

Women & Men: If you could create your dream dress or suit, what would it look like....? Ok, if you were going to royal ball or a huge sophisticated party (no alcohol) and you could wear anything you wanted........what would it be? Go ahead.....use all imagination and find some detail within.... Here is mine, I would wear a cream with gold thread broquet fabric dress (this fabric is a little weighty and has almost a slightly embossed or waffled texture from a pattern being stitches into in which creates an elaborate quilted appearance, it makes for a great structured bodice of a gown and a very reagal and timeless look that Grace Kelly might have worn when she was princess or like Jacky Kennedy may have chosen as a cocktail dress or formal. Mmmmmm......love suits made of it too. The gold thread on my particular fabric adds a subtle luster or sparkle and over all.....this single fabric has the appearance of many layers and complexities.... The dress would be structured bodice with as few seams possible, as not to break the visual flow of this complex looking fabric.... It would have a strait across neckline (imagine a tube top but with a fold at the top edge like a sort of lapel across the top edge) there would be 1.5 inch wide straps and the back would have a long and smi narrow opening from the top back to the low back (pretty darn low but not scandalous) On one side of this opening....there are small fabric covered buttons (same broquet fab) they are quite close together like the buttons on a Victorian dress or shoe. These line just one side of the opening (this creates something unexpected as they are not in center back and only on the right side of back, creating a visual draw to one side ) The opening is laced back and forth like a ballet slipper, with creamy colored silk piping trim......The silk is so fine and shiny, It almost looks like is is made of liquid pearl.... The skirt is very full and wavy, and so..... 1950"s, coming just below the knee. Of course it would take about five miles of netting to make this heavy fabric flare out at the skirt (But lets live a little!) It is worth all the trouble to construct it. For shoes...I would wear pearly, Champagne , vinyl strappy criss-cross shoes with a beautiful white diamond and pearl combo vintage costume jewelry earring clipped on the the side of each shoe for a touch of ahhhh....... Mmmmm.....I can see it so clearly in my mind. And if I wanted to really throw the symbolic icing on the cake, And lose the fear of going too far here, I would wear elbow length gloves made of the softest polished cotton that was mostly mat with the ever slightest silken sheen and vintage glass pearl buttons running along side seam (the gloves are pearly white and slightly brighter than the laces on the back of the gown and the pearls lean more to butter or champagne color. In case you had not noticed, I have a passion for fashion that is overwhelming at times :) . But I also have my priorities. I do not live for fashion but I love it! and designing it and putting together fun outfits that express or provoke a thought or emotion or memory of something ....Another time, another place. It is all about how it makes you feel, not where you bought it or whether it has some rich business guys name on it. I have a dress I bought from a souvenir shop in Mexico. just cotton with a halter tie and an embroidered pattern on the waist. Very cultural look. It only cost 20 or 25 dollars and it makes me feel so nice when I wear it. It could have cost a penny and I would love it far more than a shirt for 50 dollars... No matter how casual or fancy.....or inexpensive a piece of fashion, If it makes you feel beautiful and confident and fits your personality and inner beauty, then you will exude Radience and beauty. Less can be more and more can be more....Whichever way you truly love, rock it out from the inside out and never put fashion above who you are. You could wear a sack and be the most beautiful girl in the room or a guy with no inclination towards fashion and still be the most handsome guy in the room because you do not have to look any certain way to feel good and that shows and that is all that you really need in fashion. What you believe and how you feel and who you are. if you are a kind and good person who does not need diamonds and silk or a Rolex or Armani suit to be happy.....Then what else matters when it comes to what to wear? At the end of the day, the clothes mean nothing except that perhaps you get much enjoyment out of expressing yourself through this art form....And I understand that feeling beautiful or handsome brings confidence and that brings joy but stop and think for a moment what it really means to you....If you were in outer Mongolia teaching English to children who would be profoundly effected by your effort to help them....Would they care what you were wearing? would you care? See, thinking about the deepest and most reel things.....makes us remember where fashion belongs on the priority list. Living with that in mind brings real Thank you (Supermodel) and (Tougher than I look) great name by the way....Your dresses sound gorgeous! The reason I went into all that is because I tend to flow with my feelings a lot and I have long wondered if I should love fashion so much cause I also am a minimalistic person with certain values and wishes for society to be less burdened by the superficial side of fashion and beauty and I fight with myself for which side I am on (but gosh! I am both and that's ok ) Life is good and I love fashion! It is more to me than a symbol in society and I can live without it too......but life is more fun with it and it is up to each, how we see and use it. Thanks for making me think about that. Now a realize that I do not have to fight between my love of it and my values....I can have both in balance. Take care!
